Gods House of Second Chances is a Re-entry transitional housing pathway for men and women coming out of incarceration as well as married couples and families experiencing housing insecurity and homelessness, gentrification and displacement.
We are a faith-based organization utilizing five (5) transitional living facilities to offer affordable housing options to low income, disenfranchised, and marginalized people in the Tacoma area. Successfully operating for 5+ years, God's House of Second Chances has become a major support to the community and recognized statewide for the work we do, not only to give folks housing but also promote positive growth and development that allows individuals to get a second chance at life.
Although we are a faith-based organization and encourage folks to get involved with different ministries that we are connected to, we also support the growing social justice and ecojustice movements that are taking root in the city of Tacoma. God's House of Second Chances sponsors many groups inside prison and helps carry out their work in the community. Our most current initiative is our Circle of Life Tacoma Hub which used to be two (2) taverns which we have now converted into a family restaurant on one side, gathering place for community activism, and we also have Tuesday night zoom meetings to abolish the injustice in the prison system, training classes on renters rights, and the other side will be used as a soup kitchen, resource center, AA/NA gathering place, chapters of chemical dependency organizations and also a place where individuals can receive such social services as job placement as well as acquiring state- sponsored financial aid and food assistance.
